Holland America
Using After Effects, Blender and Premiere Pro I created clear, engaging animations for Paid and Organic social campaigns, as well as transit displays, bus wraps, billboards and Onboard displays. My role was in helping to animate elements and assets to promote their campaigns in a way that was simple, visual, and easy for people to connect with.

For 150 years, Holland America has been a recognized leader in cruising with some of the most comfortable ships at sea.
Working as part of a team was a real pleasure, as usually I have to wear most of the hats during the production process, I had other designers and animators to bounce ideas off of and collaborate to create some very effective animations for lockups, paid and organic social and onboard displays. Initially, most of the work was static before. I began seeing opportunities in how to animate still images, like cinemagraphs, with one elements in action, bringing the viewers attention to the messaging. I had broad flexibility to bring images to life and I utilized parallaxing, perspectives and camera movement to do so. Once the images were approved, finding corresponding footage was a challenge, so this was my way of being able to use motion, but still be within the approved imagery standard.

Working as part of a team as well as having broad range to interpret my contributions was a perfect match.
The team checked in via Teams with the Project Manager and Creative Director daily to discuss projects, upcoming and present as well as raising awareness of any challenges we were facing. Our projects set up in Asana where we could communicate about project specific issue with the stakeholders for each if we had any questions. The approval process was first uploading our drafts into WorkFront for review and then once approved, the project assets and comps are cleaned up and saved to SharePoint.

The challenge of finding the right balance between motion and taste was a huge factor.
I learned many things working with a competent, talented group of designers that helped improve my workflow, my design sense, as well as my ability to be a positive influence on the visual direction of promotional campaigns. I helped to bring static imagery to life, to help bring to viewer closer to the location to immerse them in the moment, versus just a basic, static image.
